DC Srinagar reviews the status of land defense mutations in the district


SRINAGAR SEPTEMBER 26:- In order to review the progress of land defense changes in the district, Srinagar Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad chaired a meeting in his office room here today.

The meeting was attended by Defense Estates Officer Bhubhati Rohit, Srinagar Deputy Revenue Commissioner Raies Ahmad and field staff.

On occasion, the Deputy Commissioner has conducted a thoughtful review of the current status and progress of defense land transfers in the district.

The DC has been advised that out of a total of 16 cases, 11 have been settled and the remaining 5 cases are under review for land of equal value.

He was also informed that 85% of the land included in the tax registers has been transferred to the benefit of the Defense authorities.

On occasion, he was further informed that 5379 Kanals of land are not part of the revenue records and instead appear in the records of the Forestry Department. On occasion, the Deputy Commissioner formed a joint team of officers from the Department of Defense Estates and the Department of Revenue to reconcile a few quantums of land to expedite the transfer process.
