Burhanpur (Madhya Pradesh): The district administration will take action against illegal settlements developed on agricultural lands without registration with the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), planning and land development approval, or registration with the relevant authorities.
The administration will take action after a long stay in the district as the department has notified about 125 illegal settlements. Soon, the district administration will launch a campaign to legalize these illegal settlements. Even after that, the colonizers who will not legalize his colony, an FIR will be registered against him.
Locals have claimed that many illegal settlements have sprung up in the district as the land mafia has developed more than a hundred settlements on farmland without proper permission and sold these plots to customers.
This land mafia not only deceives innocent buyers, but also causes revenue loss to the authorities.
After receiving complaints, District Collector Praveen issued instructions to take action against illegal settlements on farmland without permission. The administration removed electric poles, marked stones on the plots and temporary roads in the settlements.
A notice will be given to all and the administration will request the necessary documents, including diversion, authorization from the TNCP department, registration with RERA and others. If the colonies do not meet all these conditions within the time limit, an FIR will be registered against them.
Notably only permission required, but an active land mafia link selling land to more than one person.
No TNCC clearance, not even RERA registration
According to sources, most of the settlers hijacked the farmland only from the SDM office, while to develop the settlement, permission must be obtained by swiping the settlement card from the TNCP department. In addition, it is mandatory to register with the RERA.
RERA is an organization formed to protect the rights of those who invest or buy land in the settlement. The settlers have neither taken the authorization from the TNCP nor registered with the RERA if they do not legalize the illegals.

SDM KR Badole and tehsildar Mukesh Kashiv said about 125 settlements have been identified whose papers will be checked, TNCP clearance, RERA registration and land diversion done or not, 8-10 days by issuing Notice Even after that, if the illegal settlement is not legalized, then FIR will be done.
