There was a major hearing in Grangeville before County Commissioners last Tuesday regarding the right of way, or lack thereof, along the old Forest Route 18 (also identified as the Orogrande/Elk City Road). The road climbs and crosses the old Cal-Ida mining pit, which was the original route from Elk City to Deadwood Road, towards Orogrande, long before Highway 14 was drilled along Southfork in the 1960s. 1930.
